Another boring/typical few days. Yesterday, I did actually practice, which I guess is slightly unusual for a Thursday. I went ahead and practiced to make up for Wednesday. Though I seriously am just so ready to be done with my recital repertoire. I did have studio class, where I played Chant de Linos. It honestly wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It obviously wasn’t perfect, but I do think it’s in good shape for my recital next week. Today, I once again practiced ooh. Then I ended up in the flute studio with a few other flute players and we messed around with the boom whackers and played part of Chant de Linos with them, which was honestly a blast. One of the flute players did post a video of this if you are curious of our shenanigans, I reposted the reel on my instagram story 🙂 . Afterwards we had our methods and pedagogy class which was nice. Then a freshman flute player had a recital today! It was SO GOOD. It’s hard to believe she’s just a freshman, because she’s actually killing it. It was a great recital. Afterwards, I ended up eating with a few flutes players and our professor, which was also nice. I feel like I say it so much and I sound so sappy doing so, but I really am thankful for all of them. A lot of my life I haven’t had people around me like I do now. Randomly messing around with boom whackers and going out to eat with people literally never happened and it was really rough on me. Not that everything now is super easy, but it does make me extra thankful for the people I’ve met here. The day I decided I was going to do all I could to make friends was probably one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life, even if it meant that I’ve done things that were more out of my comfort zone.
And that’s seriously all I can think of. I was out sorta late tonight and I’m honestly surprised I’m sitting here writing this at almost 11pm, but here I am. A lot of the past two days has just been spent with friends, which is something I never thought I’d say. I’m too sappy tonight LOL. Anyways, tomorrow another flute player has his recital and then our professor has one Sunday, and I’m definitely looking forward to both. Then to top it off I’m sort of last minute playing Tuberama at a thing on Monday. So I’ve got a busy week ahead of me 🙂
