I feel like so much has happened, and there has been a lot…I just can’t share it quite yet. But for stuff I can share, I had my first performance of Supernova! I think I maybe blogged about it last post, but if I didn’t, I think it went really well. My flute professor also sent me an email back the other day, telling me she enjoyed it so that’s so super slay. I had two concerts, one with the choir and one band one. The choir one was fun and it’s been a while since I’ve gotten to play with a choir, so it was a lot of fun. The band one I actually thought went pretty well as well, I really wasn’t sure of how it was going to go. Here’s some pics from that 🙂
I’ve also, as of today, completely finished with my finals!! YAY!! So I had a presentation, which was garbage but it’s fine, and then my jury today which went way better than that presentation lol. I also spent many, many hours in the band office putting away all of the music from this semester. I’m kinda weird though and find it to be pretty satisfying to watch as the giant piles of music slowly get organized and disappear to their spots in the back. We also had our marching band banquet, which was alright. I didn’t do marching band in undergrad, so the last band banquet I went to was in high school…this one was definitely more professional, but still good. A fun story, the night before the banquet the other GA texted me and asked if I wanted to go with her to look for a dress for it, which then made me realize that many of my dresses don’t fit and I actually need one as well, so we went to look for a dress. We ran into some other band members also looking for dresses, so we were a mini pack in morgantown looking. Morgantown disappointed, though that’s not surprising. I did find something to wear though and I think I kinda slayed so yeah.
I’ve also done 2 more basketball games, I think, since I last blogged. Yesterday, I was completely alone at it, which was nerve wracking, but I think it was okay. There were definitely some interesting count offs from me, but the band all knows what to do so it was fine. Also, these stairs I have to go up in the coliseum are terrifying!!! I also had a birthday this past week lol. I didn’t do much, honestly I just went to a flute players recital (she killed it) and then came home…composed…and then ordered some food.
Mental health wise, I’m doing a lot better, which makes sense as I’ve been able to do more things that I actually want to do instead of have to do for school. Like composing and watching Sweet Home season 2 LOL. I also got onto a higher dose of my medication that seems to be really helping, which is really exciting. It’s looking like this might be a good fit. I don’t want to share too much until the official announcement, but I also don’t think too many people read this, so I’m gonna give a little teaser. I have a super exciting/terrifying project that is being put into place. I did a ton of planning yesterday for it and I’m just gonna go for it and see what happens. I’m really excited and just want to tell everyone now, but that would ruin the fun 😉 Here’s a little teaser image I worked on for it, which honestly took many hours of my life, but I always enjoy drawing stars/space. ‘Till next time!
