Yesterday was pretty normal as I had expected. I did practice for like an hour and then I planned to improv after that hour, then get back into music, but the improv led me to some composition ideas and I honestly stopped practicing to do just that. So I spent a good two hours composing yesterday, which was cool I guess. I’m not too sure about it, but we’ll see. After that we had studio class, which was good. A flute player is out of town so I’m subbing for them in orchestra today and tomorrow, so they got me boba yesterday as payment lol. I definitely would have subbed either way…but if they wanna buy me boba I’m not gonna say no. After studio yesterday, I worked a bit more on composing and then more studying. I also finished up Rick and Morty…I have such an exciting life. But sometimes living with Piper makes studying interesting…
Today! wasn’t that much more exciting! I first had band rehearsal, then a few hour break where I glanced at the orchestra music (should have looked more but oh well) and then grabbed some dinner. After that it was orchestra rehearsal, which I think went okay. They’re doing Beethooven 5 and the last few movements of the Firebird suite, both of which I have played before, so I wasn’t too concerned even though I did the piccolo part today. But the conductor changed plans an hour or so before rehearsal and we went through a piece I haven’t played before, which of course had a fat flute solo. Started off good…until I got to B#….who even writes those anyway. But it’s all good, I was sight reading, and that was literally the only time I will ever play it, unless he changes his mind and puts it on the schedule for tomorrow. When I got home I took Piper on a quick walk/training session in a nearby small field, which she seemed to love. And that for some reason knocked out both of us, even though it couldn’t have been more than half an hour. So we’ve just been chilling.
Tomorrow should be nice…minus the doctors appointment (not gonna lie, I’m already anxious about it and idek why :/ )…but I’ll have my electronic class and then I plan on taking Piper to a park to study and stuff. I’m going to have to find a good park with not a whole lot of people though lol. For both of our sakes, really. Then Friday should be another typical Friday of band and then our pedagogy class.
