You heard it here, I think my motivation is coming back. Just a bit. Maybe the sun is influencing my feelings. Tuesday was fine from what I remember. Me teaching studio class went pretty well, I hope. I was able to get through everything and I think it was helpful information. Practicing yesterday was also pretty great. I was getting a bit tired towards the end, but I pushed through and got good stuff done. I’m getting more excited (but also nervous) about my recital in a little over a month. I did get a burst of motivation yesterday after classes, where I did some regular people things that needed to get done. So I now have a clean kitchen once again, and I started on 2 assignments that aren’t due until later!! That never happens with how much I procrastinate.

Today was also good. I’m just in a good and motivated mood I guess. I had a lot of fun practicing today and it didn’t feel like I was practicing for an eternity, which is refreshing. One of the pieces I’m playing isn’t super hard, but it’s a really fun piece to play and listen to. Today, my goal was sort of to bring my love towards the flute back by having fun in the practice room. So even though I was memorizing it and working on it seriously…I may or may not have been dancing around when playing it…thankfully I covered the window lol. But it really did help overall in my attitude towards flute and practicing. I even had ideas of social media content come up that I quickly wrote down, and later planned a bit further. Today I’m also reminded on why I don’t particularly love playing in ensembles. It’s a lot of “do this” “do that” “where’s your energy” and whatever it is. Same stuff I’ve heard at almost every rehearsal for forever. I suppose it’s more so the students fault. If everyone worked on their music outside of rehearsal, our director wouldn’t have to be spending 15min on a part that only one section of the band plays. But it didn’t harm my motivation because I came home, ate, and got to doing schoolwork.

As much as I hate having a routine, planning out my week has seemed to really help this week. On Sunday or Monday (I don’t remember) I sat down, looked at all of the assignments I’d have due this week or next and just planned what needed to get done each day. I broke down each of the assignments into smaller parts to work on on different days and so far I’ve been sticking to it. It’s not as overwhelming and I know I won’t miss anything this way. In the past I’ve just written like overall due dates and just “work on it” on my planner, but I got specific this time, writing “email this” “summary of chp 1” or whatever it is. We’ll see how long I keep up with it.

Also this is like super unrelated, BUT when I got home today I realized I haven’t taken any photos to use for the cover photo thing, so I used a throwback photo of baby Piper when she was like maybe 3 months old, which was like a month after I got her 🙂 .
